There are not many girls who can resist being pampered with beautiful things? So, wouldn't it be wonderful to treat yourself to something beautiful without leaving your desk? Well, that's what Zoe Winfield had in mind when she set up BeautifulThings.co.uk

It was while sitting at her office desk one day, that it occurred to Zoe that while she had no problems buying gifts for her husband, it was more difficult for a gift that was just right for her girlfriends. "I realised there was a gap in the market for a friendly and fun website, selling beautiful things" explained Zoe. Not long after that, Zoe decided to give up her well paid job and invest all her savings into the new venture.

Setting up a business is always fraught with doubts and concerns and Zoe had her fair share: "My biggest concern is the financial aspect of the business - we've invested savings and I've given up a good career to launch Beautiful Things and it's very daunting at times to realise that it's down to me to make this work." Indeed. Zoe had not envisaged the amount of hard work involved in setting up a business. Fortunately, with the help of family and friends, she was able to get the business up and running and is looking forward to a beautiful future.
